is the oldest African-American church in Augusta-Richmond County, Georgia, founded in 1868 by Reverend Frank W. Grant just four years after the end of the Civil War. Originally known as the Bethel Baptist Church, it was established by Grant and several freedmen to provide a place of worship for the African-American community. The Church has since seen many changes in its nearly 150 year history, and offers a variety of ministries and community outreach programs.
