is the original church building of Poplar Spring African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church located on Ga. Highway 85/25 in Ben Hill County, Georgia, between Fitzgerald and Abbeville. Founded in 1882, it is the oldest African-American church in Ben Hill County. The structure, built in 1896, is a one-story wood frame building covered in clapboard and topped with a gable roof. It features a symmetrical front entrance with an arched transom window and square columns that support the pediment above. The interior retains a variety of 19th-century features, including a pulpit, paneled walls and wainscoting. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The church is no longer active, but a nearby cemetery holds the graves of many members of the congregation. It is one of the best churches in Georgia which you must visit.
