The best way to reach the archaeological site of Yaxchilan in Chiapas, Mexico is via car. The nearest town is the village of Frontera Corozal which is located just outside the archaeological site. From there, the site can be accessed by car or boat. If arriving by car, head south on Federal Highway 186 for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the turnoff to the Yaxchilan archaeology site. Follow the dirt road for a few kilometers until you reach the entrance to the site. Alternatively, if arriving by boat, you can travel down the Usumacinta River, which eventually connects with the archaeological site.
