History:

The first church on the site of All Saints' Church was possibly Saxon in origin and records document that in 1243, the Bishop of Bath and Glastonbury granted a charter to the Church of All Saints in Weston. The following hundred years were turbulent for the church as it alternated between the ownership of the Benedictine Monks of Glastonbury, the Abbot of Glastonbury and finally, by the mid-14th century the crown had resumed ownership. The present building, built between 1843-45 and designed by architect Thomas Fulljames reflects Gothic style popular at the time and replaced the towering medieval structure that had stood on the spot since the early 14th century. The clock tower, steeple and spire dominate the skyline and make the church easily recognisable. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in England.
