The English Church East (TECE) In Dominican Republic: History,Facts, & Services
The English Church East (TECE) is an independent Anglo-Catholic Christian church based in East London. It was founded in 1993 and comprises three parishes located in Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Canning Town. The church is dedicated to promoting orthodoxy, evangelism and missionary work in the movement of the Church. It is run by a college of clergy, called the College of Ministers, led by the Revd Dr Allen Batterbee (Rector of St Peter's, Stepney). They are committed to a sacramental and liturgical emphasis and have strong ecumenical relationships. The church has an emphasis on the corporate worship of the church and the celebration of the Eucharist. It has an emphasis on the community, hospitality and sharing of resources, and works with its local partners to provide support and services to those in need. In addition to regular Sunday worship, the church provides various services, such as taizé prayer, special events for children, youth groups and weekly meetings.
