San Pedro Church was first established by Los Angeles Bishop Francisco Mora y Borrell who officiated its first Mass on November 15, 1874. A year later, in 1875, the cornerstone of the first church building was laid. This was a single-story, wood framed structure and was the first permanent Catholic church in the Palos Verdes Peninsula. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Dominican Republic.
