The original cathedral site in Atlanta was the Chapel of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, built in 1883. In 1924, the adjacent Church of St. Peter was built on the site and the current Cathedral of St. Philip the Apostle was constructed from 1958 to 1962.
