St. George's Basilica In Czechia: History,Facts, & Services
History:
The original church was built in 973 as a rotunda, surrounded by a cemetery. It was rebuilt in the early 11th century in the Romanesque style. Under Charles IV, the church was renovated in the 14th century and dedicated to St. George. In the 17th century, the church was renovated again and a chapel was added. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Czechia.
