History:

Yuntai Mountain, also known as Yuntaishan is located in Henan Province of China. It is one of the major mountains of the Yuntai Mountain Range, and one of the most popular tourist resorts in the region. The history of Yuntai Mountain can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn Period (770BC–476BC) of the Chinese History, which is the period when the State of Qin (the first unified Chinese Empire) gained dominance in the region. The mountain was first named as Wuxi Peak due to its location between two rivers. During the reign of an emperor in the State of Chu (770BC–223BC), Yuntai Mountain was granted imperial protection and became known for its hot springs and breathtaking views. In this period, the mountain was also referred to as Xianshan ("The Mountain of Immortals"). During the Han Dynasty (202BC–220AD), various academies were built on the mountain, and poetry and artifacts from this period can still be found. The Yuntai Mountain Scenic Area was established in 1993, and the scenic area is open to the public. It has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Henan Province. In 2005, it was added to the list of National Key Scenic Spots, and has been named as a World Cultural Heritage Spot by UNESCO in 2020.
