The Presbyterian Church In Cameroon (PCC), formerly the United Presbyterian Church of Cameroon (UPC), is a Protestant union of more than a million members spread across different parts of the nation, making it the largest Protestant denomination in Cameroon. History:
The PCC has its roots in the 19th century missionary work of Presbyterian missionaries William free and Carol Lomond, who founded the Congo mission in 1863 and established a Protestant congregation in Yaounde in 1885 respectively. The Protestant congregation in Yaounde later evolved into the United Presbyterian Church of Cameroon, which was established in 1951. In 1992, the United Presbyterian Church of Cameroon and the Presbyterian Church of Cameroon merged to form the Presbyterian Church In Cameroon. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Cameroon.
