Orthodox Parish Saint Dimitri - Holy Orthodox Metropolis of Cameroon In Cameroon was created in 2008 when the mission of Saint Nicholas in Douala and the mission of Saint John the Baptist in Yaounde were merged. The creation of this new mission was done with the blessing and guidance of Archbishop Ignatius of Washington and the support of the Patriarch of Moscow. This parish has continued to be a point of union for the traditional and contemporary life of the local populations, providing them with its mission services and activities. These activities not only support the spiritual growth of the parishioners, but it also serves to open the door to greater understanding of the Orthodox faith and the traditions of their spiritual ancestors in the church. At present, the parish offers numerous activities and services such as Bible study, worship services including the Divine Liturgy, weddings, baptisms, memorial services, as well as seminars, discussions and educational events. Further, the parish also offer outreach services through its donations and ministers, participating in charitable works, and organizing various Orthodox activities in Cameroon.
