EGLISE JESUSLIFE in Cameroon is a Christian denomination founded in 1985. It is a global Christian movement founded by Pastor John Wilfried Ondo Éboué, who is the founder of the church. The church believes in the living God revealed in Jesus Christ as the way, truth and life, and that one can experience Him through the church community dedicated to loving God and loving neighbor. Its purpose is to bring holiness, justice, and beauty to the Cameroonian society and to have a positive impact on the nation. History The church was founded by Pastor John Wilfried Ondo Éboué in 1985 in the center of Douala, the former capital of Cameroon. In the late 1980s, the EGLISE JESUSLIFE in Cameroon membership had grown to 5000 members. In 1992, Éboué inaugurated the headquarters of the church in Douala and it became a center of worship, evangelism, social services, and other economic activities. The first branch of the church outside of Douala was established in Yaounde in 1994, and it has since spread across the nation, with over 100 local congregations. Services The church operates a variety of services for its members and for the community in general. These services include youth development, educational initiatives, HIV/AIDS awareness, marriage counseling, and support for victims of physical and spiritual abuse. In addition, the church operates six medical centers, three orphanages, and a food distribution network that provides nourishment to impoverished children. The church also provides micro-loans to small businesses and villages to help alleviate poverty.
