Its Gothic-Romanesque structure is remarkable for its Romanesque doorway, decorated with a tympanum with a figure of Saint Sebastian being shot with arrows. The building also features a 16th-century Manueline window at one end and three neoclassical altars inside. History The origins of Capela de São Sebastião are unknown, but it is believed to have been constructed in the 12th or 13th century. The chapel survived a fire that destroyed the rest of the church complex in 1527. In 1874, the building underwent renovations, with new altars, windows and walls being added.
