Eglise de Pentecôte Internationale de Côte d'Ivoire is a Pentecostal denomination based in Ivory Coast. It is part of the larger World Pentecostal Fellowship and is the largest Protestant denomination in the country. The church was founded in 1963 by evangelist Elija Coulibaly who, according to the church’s official history, had a vision of building the church in Ivory Coast. The church is now present in over 40 countries, including a presence in Liberia, Burkina Faso and the United States. It is estimated that the church has more than 8 million members worldwide, with more than 70,000 in Ivory Coast alone. The church’s headquarters are located in Abidjan and it has a wide range of community outreach programs including education, healthcare and social services. It focuses on ministry to the poor and vulnerable, including human trafficking victims, orphans, the elderly and the disabled. The church also sponsors the annual National Festival of Pentecost, which is held in the town of Gagnoa, Ivory Coast.
