Worship Method:

Gangzur Lhakhang in Lhuentse, Bhutan is a monastic temple located in a small farming village in the Dzongkhags region. It is a branch of the Drukpa Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. Worship at Gangzur Lhakhang begins with the offering of incense and water to the altar. Offerings of tea and butter lamps are then made to the sacred Buddha statues flanked by the images of the Eight Manifestations of Padmasambhava. The lamps are lit with incense and prayers are chanted. Offerings of Mandala circles are also made. Other rituals such as chanting the liturgy from the One Hundred Ten Thousand Names of Avalokiteshvara and the Guru Rinpoche Mantras are performed. Special rituals like Kyabje Trulshig Rinpoche Guru Puja are also conducted. During this ritual, statues covered with silk scarves and offerings of food are placed on an altar to honor the image of Trulshig Rinpoche. At the conclusion of the ritual, devotional music is then played and devotees make their circumambulation around the altar three times and greet each of the statues.
