Syriac Orthodox Church, Saint Sharbel In Belgium is an Eastern Orthodox Church located in the town of Anstell in La Provence, Belgium. It is the only Eastern Orthodox Church in Belgium and is part of the Antiochian Orthodox Church of Antiochan Christianity.The parish is named after the 18th century saint Shrbel Mar Bishara Raheb, a Lebanese hermit who was known for his piety and asceticism. It is one of the best churches in Belgium which you must visit.

History:

The church was established in 1976 by a Lebanese couple, Tony and Emilia Kaila, who wanted to keep the teachings and traditions of the Eastern Orthodox Church alive. The Kailas were members of the Syriac Orthodox Church and wished to serve the Syriac Orthodox community of Belgium. Back then, the parish consisted of only three families. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Belgium.
