Sint-Jozefkerk (De Papegaai) is an 18th-century church located in the Belgian town of Mechelen. The church was designed by architect William Coudenys and built between 1780-1789. The name “De Papegaai” (The Parrot) is derived from a parrot-like sculpture atop the cupola of the church. The church is built in the Neoclassical style, and features a dome, a symmetrical facade and a classical bell tower. Inside, the church boasts a highly polished marble altar, stucco walls and a richly decorated vaulted ceiling. Sint-Jozefkerk is an active church which offers a range of services including weekly Mass, baptisms, church weddings, and funerals.
