See-through church “Reading between the Lines” In Belgium: History,Facts, & Services
See-through church “Reading between the Lines” is an open-air modern church in Lochristi, Belgium. Designed by Belgian architect Gijs Van Vaerenbergh, the church consists of 100 columns and four walls of steel plates. The walls of this mosque are designed to resemble the pages of a book, giving the appearance of lines and meshes in various sections. According to Van Vaerenbergh, the concept of “reading between the lines” is that the walls of the church should not act as a barrier between people who are gathered together, but should instead foster conversation and open communication. The church conducts regular spiritual services, weddings, funerals, concerts, educational sessions, exhibitions, and other events.
