The Church of Name of the Blessed Virgin Mary, often referred to as the Virgin Mary Church, is a Roman Catholic church located in the city of Trenton, New Jersey. The church was founded in 1895 and is dedicated to the veneration of the Virgin Mary. The original building was built in the Gothic Revival style and was expanded over the years. The church's history is closely connected to the Roman Catholic Church's involvement in New Jersey in the 1800s. The church was founded as part of a larger effort by Bishop James Roosevelt Bayley to establish Roman Catholic dioceses in each of the state's seven counties. By 1870, there were 25 parishes–some quite small–in the diocese. The Church of Name of the Blessed Virgin Mary is noted for its beautiful stained-glass windows featuring the Protestant Reformation and the establishment of the Catholic Church in America.
