The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Valley is a Roman Catholic church and the mother church of the Diocese of Fresno, located in Fresno, California. The Cathedral was established in 1908 and made a Basilica by Pope St. John Paul II in 1983. It follows a Neo-Gothic architectural style based on plans from English-born architect Joseph Everett Chandler. Its Gothic façade offers a unique example of the design of the period supplemented with Baroque touches.

The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Valley is the mother church of the Diocese of Fresno and was founded in 1908. The cornerstone was laid on April 16, 1909, and the original structure, a Romanesque Revival church, was dedicated in 1910 and served the area for over 70 years. When the Diocese of Fresno was established and the Reverend Fulton J. Sheen was appointed the first bishop of the diocese, the Cathedral was remodeled, along with several new wings, in the Gothic style of architecture and renamed Cathedral of Our Lady of the Valley Basilica. On December 8, 1983, Pope St. John Paul II officially made Our Lady of the Valley a basilica. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Argentina.
