Sant Romà d'Erts In Andorra is a mountain village located near the border of Andorra and Catalonia. It is situated south of the Catalan village of Erts, surrounded by the Serra de Finestres range. It is one of the oldest villages of Andorra and the traditional arced houses have a distinctive architecture. The village is situated on the road between Erts and Andorra la Vella, the capital. It dates from ancient times, when the villagers used to transport food and livestock between Andorra la Vella and Barcelona on mules.
Traditionally, Sant Romà d'Erts has been home to people involved in the exploitation of natural resources, mainly logging, hunting and transhumance, the seasonal movement of shepherds and their flocks.
The village enjoys all the services of a mountain village, including a traditional grocery store and a small hotel, as well as two restaurants. The village is also renowned for the wealth of natural activities, including trekking, rafting, and climbing.
