Església de Sant Pere d'Aixirivall In Andorra is one of the most important religious monuments on the Principality of Andorra. It was built in the 14th to 15th centuries and was restored over the centuries. It stands at the centre of the small principality and is the oldest Romanesque church in the country. It is dedicated to St Peter, the initial patron saint of the Montes Principality. The church is known for its rich stonework decoration and its impressive interior with several points of interest. The interior is dominated by a large Baroque altar and by the Romanesque capitals of columns from the 17th century. There are several polychrome altarpieces from the 17th century, as well as some large paintings. The church services are celebrated in both Catalan and Spanish and the feast of St Peter's is celebrated every year on June 29th. The church is open from 10am-6pm from Mondays to Saturdays and from 10am-1pm on Sundays.
