Worship Method:
The worship method at Sheetla Mata Temple in Chintpurni, Himachal Pradesh involves offering food items like sweets, fruits, and cooked rice to the goddess by way of the priest. Devotees have to stand in a queue until the priest puts the offerings in a pot. Then they can take the offering, along with the priest, in front of the goddess and chant her name and perform some rituals. Thereafter, they can get blessings from the goddess by bowing down to the deity. This worship is usually performed twice a day – once in the morning and once in the evening. People usually take a holy bath in the temple tank before performing the puja. Some devotees also light oil lamps as a mark of respect to the goddess.
