The Shangchul Mahadev Temple is an ancient Hindu temple located in Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh. Legend says that when Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati, this temple was built to commemorate their union. Shangchul Mahadev Temple in Himachal Pradesh is believed to be the site of Lord Shiva's meditation. It is located in a small village called Jakhach near the ancient town of Chintpurni. People visit the temple to offer their prayers and seek blessings from Lord Shiva. The worship method of Shangchul Mahadev Temple is the traditional 'puja'. In puja, the devotees burn incense sticks, light lamps, offer prasad and pour water, milk and ghee on the Shivling. They also chant mantras while making the offerings. The devotees also prostrate before the deity, seek his blessings and express their heartfelt gratitude. The worship rituals are also accompanied by music, singing and the rhythmic clapping of hands. At the end of the puja, the devotees break the fast by eating prasad together. They also take home a few prasad items as blessings.
