2. Axum

Axum is an ancient city in northern Ethiopia boasting a rich history and fascinating archaeological sites. It was once the capital of the Aksumite Empire and is believed to be the home of the original Ark of the Covenant. The stelae (huge stone obelisks) and the ruins of ancient palaces are major attractions in Axum.

3. Simien Mountains National Park

5. Gondar

8. Harar

Harar is a unique and ancient walled city located in eastern Ethiopia. It is known for its distinctive architecture, colorful markets, and the Hyena Man ritual, where locals feed hyenas meat from their mouths. Harar is also a center of Islamic heritage and houses several mosques.
