Teatro Terry is an historic theatre located in the city of Cienfuegos, on the southern coast of Cuba. Named after Antonio Guiteras Terry, an anti-imperialist Cuban patriot and leader of the unsuccessful 1933 revolt against Gen. Gerardo Machado, the building was originally constructed in 1869 as a market. In 1894, the market was remodeled and reopened as Teatro Terry, becoming the main theatre of Cienfuegos.
Throughout the 20th century, the theatre was home to numerous illustrious members of the Cuban artistic world, including Ignacio Cervantes, the composer of the Cuban national anthem and first Maestro of the Orquesta Sinfónica de La Habana.
