The effects of the mysterious disease were quickly seen among many people. The dead appeared to be in a trance-like state, wandering around aimlessly during the night. Many of the villagers started to see visions of strange creatures or heard demonic voices in their head. People started disappearing and returning in a state of shock, as if they hadn’t really been there.
One night, a group of brave villagers decided to investigate the forest and the source of this paranormal activity. As they traveled deep into the forest in pursuit of the unknown force, they started to hear whispers in the darkness and saw strange yellow eyes piercing through the night.
When they finally found the source, it was a large, dark temple with an altar at its center. There, a hooded figure was offering a sacrifice to a being hidden from view. The sacrifice was a living human.
The group soon realized that they had stumbled into a forbidden ritual. Taking no chances, they fled and warned the rest of the village about what they had seen. The village elders forbade anyone from setting foot in the dark forest, and when the plague ceased, the strange happenings seemed to also disappear.
