Horror Story of Balgonie Castle
Long time ago there lived a poor nobleman named Baron William Mawson who resided in the Balgonie Castle. Despite his poverty he lived a peaceful life till one day his life was shattered by a dark and mysterious event which terrorized the castle and all of its inhabitants.
The story begins one night when Baron Mawson was in his chambers and the night seemed to be quite normal till an awful shriek echoed throughout the castle. It kept increasing in intensity and eventually shattered the air with a loud and terrifying sound. The shrieking kept going on for quite some time, making the castle inhabitants fear for their lives.
The noise only stopped when a strange man appeared at the castle gates. He was tall and had a frightening look about him. He immediately demanded entrance and when refused, he cursed the castle and released a horde of ghastly black crows from within his cloak.
He announced his name to be Lord Dismal and declared himself to be the keeper of the Balgonie Castle. He went on to curse the castle and its inhabitants, saying that henceforth no one would be able to find peace or happiness in the castle and that it would be cursed forever.
True to his word, strange events started happening within the castle gradually. People began to mysteriously disappear, strange lights were seen in the sky, and the once peaceful castle felt like something evil lurking in its shadows.
The inhabitants tried to find a solution to the curse and eventually sought the help of the Gallagher family, who were known to be expert in the ways of occult and supernatural. The Gallagher family suggested that a powerful ritual must be performed that would remove the curse from the castle and its inhabitants.
Baron Mawson eventually decided to take the risk and proceeded with the ritual. On the day of the ritual, the castle seemed to be oddly quiet and still. As soon as the ritual was completed a loud scream echoed throughout the castle and to everybody's relief the curse of Lord Dismal was finally broken.
The castle inhabitants lived peacefully again and the castle regained its tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. But it is said that to this day, people who find themselves wandering the castle gates late at night, can still hear a faint wailing, as if someone is still mourning the tragedy of that terrible night when Lord Dismal cursed the Balgonie Castle.
