Cougar Creek's House of Horrors opened in 1998. Located near Johnson City, TN, this haunted attraction is the only professional haunted house in the region. It is owned and operated by Allen and Jenny Pemberton. Cougar Creek's House of Horrors was the first commercial haunted house experience in the area (previously, it was only home or small-scale "haunted" attractions). Cougar Creek's House of Horrors is unique in that it offers four distinct attractions (each with their own unique features): the entry maze, Hall of Darkness, Asylum, and Scar-E-Teria. Each attraction trails through 30,000 square feet of twisting, winding corridors and chambers. Actors are heavily-costumed and made up with prosthetic makeup to make for an especially frightening experience.The attraction is open for the two weeks on either side of Halloween, from October 15th to November 1st. It is also open for two weekends in April (April 17th-19th and April 24th-26th). Advance tickets are typically available for purchase on their website the week of opening.
