Horror Story of Hili Railway Station, Dinajpur
, Bangladesh
Hili Railway Station, in Dinajpur, Bangladesh, was already at the very end of most train routes. For years, the only train that ever stopped was a small freight car used to transport a few small crates of goods. Its remote location on the outskirts of the city meant that it often got less attention than the busier stations nearby.
The locals whispered wild rumors of strange things happening at night on the station platform, tales of unearthly light and strange noises coming from underground, of a hooded figure who occasionally might be seen lingering near the darkened rails. Nobody knew for sure what these things meant, but it was enough to keep most people away from the station after sundown.
But then one night, a young boy by the name of Rayhan decided to ignore the warnings and set off to investigate the strange happenings of Hili Railway Station. He ventured alone onto the deserted platform, his eyes stinging from the smoke wafting from the smoldering coals of nearby train engines.
In the distance, a faint light seemed to be flickering, as if there was some sort of source calling out to him. Rayhan slowly walked towards the light, until he was confronted by an old man wearing a hooded cape. He seemed to have been waiting for him, as if he had been expecting Rayhan to come.
The old man asked Rayhan to help him with a task that he couldn't complete on his own. In return, he would give Rayhan riches beyond his wildest dreams. Despite his initial fear, Rayhan agreed, and followed the old man down into an underground tunnel.
The tunnel was long and dark, and Rayhan could barely make out two silhouettes at the end, near an overturned cart of coal. It was then that the old man revealed to Rayhan that he was actually the ghost of a man who was murdered here many years ago. He told Rayhan that if he pushed the cart of coal back into its upright position, the two spirits trapped in the tunnel, who were the victims of the murderer, would finally be set free.
RAYhan obliged, pushing the cart of coal back onto its wheels, and setting the spirits free. As the old man disappeared into the darkness, Rayhan found that the riches that he was promised were real, and now he was free to leave the station.
But as he reached the entrance to the station, he couldn't help but feel a chill pass through his body. He knew that the restless spirits of the two victims he had just set free were now free to haunt the station, and everyone who ventured there at night. It is one of the most haunted places in bangladesh
