All of a sudden, a strange fog enveloped the area and out of the mist emerged a figure with a tattered cloak. The figure slowly moved around the campus and seemed to be searching for something or someone.
Word of the strange figure quickly spread and students quickly started to fear for their lives. No one wanted to be out after dark and even the bravest of activists suddenly vanished without a trace.
Fear began to take over as it spread further and further; students soon realized that something was wrong and that the strange figure was not just an urban legend. One night students spotted a student walking alone and then suddenly the figure appeared out of nowhere and dragged the student away into the mist. After that encounter, the students started to organize an investigation, but it was short-lived as they quickly found out about the wretched stories behind Calabar.
It was said that the figure they had seen was the ghost of an old professor, who had cursed the university after he had been wrongfully abducted by the authorities. It was said that he spent the rest of his days roaming the campus searching for those who had wronged him in the past; it was also said that anyone that he catches will end up in the same state as him.

The University of Calabar was established in 1975 and is located in the city of Calabar in the Cross River State of Nigeria. It was the first university established in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria. The institution was originally founded as the University College of Calabar by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
