Horror Story of Calnic Castle - Calnic
Castle
The locals of the small village of Calnic had long since been aware of the strange goings-on at the nearby castle: from strange noises and sightings of ghostly figures to the distorted visions and feelings of unease that seemed to emanate from the castle itself. However, none of them ever spoke of such things for fear of retribution.
But these silent warnings didn't stop a group of young people from venturing into the castle one night, in search of thrills and chills. The group went up the winding staircases and down the gothic hallways of Calnic Castle, but what they found there was more than just a thrill. They all returned that night in disarray, and would never speak of what happened.
But the mystery of Calnic Castle was too tantalizing to ignore and soon stories began to spread of what happened that night. It has since been said that while the group had been walking through the castle, a shadow of some sort had cast itself over them, a feeling of dread and terror that had caused the group to flee with panic and screams.
The locals, horrified, declared the castle cursed and despite many attempts to explore and investigate, no one has ever had the courage to step foot inside. The castle has since taken on an air of mystery; its gothic halls watched over by an overbearing sense of dread.

Castle (Romanian: Cetatea Câlnicului)
is a ruined castle in Romania, located in Alba County. It is situated in the Carpathian Mountains, on top of Mount Câlnic (973 m).
It was built in the early 12th century by Transylvanian Saxon settlers, initially as a fortress to defend against attacking forces from the east, primarily the Ottoman Turks. Its strategic location made it an important stronghold in the defense of Transylvania. The castle was continually strengthened and expanded over the next two centuries, becoming one of the most important fortresses in the region.
During the 16th century, the castle was the seat of the councillors of Transylvania. In 1541, Calnic Castle was conquered by the Ottoman Empire, who made it a base of operations for raids in the area. It was later retaken by the troops of Transylvania's Hungarian prince, István Báthory, in 1609. In 1640, disaster struck when two thirds of the castle was destroyed in an earthquake.
The castle was restored and continued to be used as a military fortification until the 19th century. In 1867, Calnic Castle was almost completely destroyed in an explosions, caused by Austrian troops who were attempting to capture it.
Today, the ruins of the castle are open to the public and are a major tourist attraction. The castle is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.If you want to visit one of the most haunted places in the world, you must visit it here
