Rukungiri District is located in the SouthWestern part of Uganda. It's bordered by the districts of Kanungu, Kabale, Kisoro and Kasese in the west. It is divided into three administrative sub divisions namely Bugangari, Nshungerezi and Nyakagyeme. The district covers an area of 1,365 square miles and has a population of about 380,000.
