ValleyGangtey Monastery, or Gangtey Gonpa, is a beautiful monastery located in Phobjikha Valley in the Wangdue Phodrang district of Bhutan. Gangtey Monastery is the only Nyingma monastery in western Bhutan. During the reign of the 9th king of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the name of the monastery was changed to the current Gangtey Gonpa.
