In 1632, the castle was purchased by the Bercken family. Over the centuries, the castle changed hands several times until it came under the possession of Anne-Joseph Phélypeaux de Pontchartrain who was the president of the Fribourg Parliament.In 1809, Pontchartrain sold the castle to Jean-Gabriel Droz who owned it until his death in 1833. In 1840, it was bought by Philibert d'Oron who then sold it to the commune in 1865. The commune restored the castle in 1878.Today, the castle is used as a cultural center by the commune.
