Horror Story of Château de Aigle, Aigle
Switzerland
As darkness began to fall, Megan and her family arrived at Château de Aigle. Megan was excited to explore the majestic Swiss castle but as they approached the grounds, the group noticed an eerie mist that seemed to have enveloped the grounds. When they entered the main hall, the feeling of dread grew within them.
The furniture was coated with a thick layer of dust and webs. And when they began to explore the other rooms, they realized that something far darker was hiding in the shadows of the castle.
In one of the rooms, Megan and her family stumbled upon a sinister altar, with hundreds of bones and offerings strewn around it. Just as they were about to flee, they heard a loud and mystifying moaning echo throughout the corridors.
It sounded like it was coming from the basement.
Afraid, but curious, Megan and her family ventured down to the basement. When they arrived, they saw something that chilled them to the core. Lying there, in the center of the room, was a withered corpse. Next to it lay a book — a book full of mysterious writings and disturbing images.
As Megan flipped through the pages, she came across an entry detailed about a gruesome ritual that had been practiced in the castle throughout its history. It seemed that, centuries ago, an evil sorcerer had taken residence in the château and used it to summon dark forces and perform horrific sacrifices.
Realizing that they were in way over their heads, the family ran back through the castle and out into the night.
Though Megan and her family hoped never to visit the Château de Aigle again, they will never forget the nightmare they encountered on that fateful night.

, Switzerland
Château de Aigle is a castle in the municipality of Aigle in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.
The Viscounty of Aigle was established in the early 11th century when the counts of Gruyère acquired a large amount of land at Aigle. The Viscounts began constructing the castle in 1250 and used it to administer their vast lands in the valleys and area around it. Their rights and titles were acquired in 1271 by Ermengarde de Mont US, wife of Othon II de Grandson. In 1273 it was inherited by her daughter, Yolande, who married Rainier de Blonay. While in Blonay control, Aigle was expanded with a chapel in 1319. After his death, the holdings were divided among his children and the castle passed to his son, Guy de Blonay who added a defensive tower and expanded the chapel. He was succeeded by his son Aymon and he by his son Raimond who was the last Blonay to own the castle.
The castle was eventually acquired by the Counts of Geneva in 1407, who enlarged it and added a second tower. In 1788, the castle and the Viscounty of Aigle were purchased by a group of local farmers. They built a third tower and renovated the interior. The farmers used the castle until 1798 when it was requisitioned by Napoleon I. After the Congress of Vienna in 1815, the castle was returned to the Aigle farmers and it has remained in private hands ever since.
Today, the castle is owned by the Hagues family and is used primarily for cultural events and concerts. It is open to visitors from April to October with guided visits available. The castle features an impressive interior with a grand salon, a formal dining room, and a chapel. It is also home to a massive collection of local artifacts, including coins, furniture, and frescoes from the Middle Ages.
The exterior of the castle is dominated by a large keep from the 13th century, three tall towers from the 15th and 17th centuries, and a fortified wall. The grounds feature lovely gardens and an observatory from the 18th century. The grounds are open to the public year-round and feature paths to lovely local views.
The castle remains an important part of the local culture and history of Aigle. It is open to the public and allows visitors to appreciate the centuries of history that have gone into its construction. This Swiss cultural treasure is not to be missed.
