It turned out the family was actually comprised of vampires who had found their way to Possie Creek and laid plans to take over the town. The people were desperate to take back their town, but the vampires were far too powerful and had all but taken control. Through mysterious means, they managed to capture any wandering souls who found their way through the fog-shrouded hills of Possie Creek, and there was no one left to stand up to them. Until one brave soul decided to take a stand. Armed with just a wooden stake and a crucifix, they struck out into the night to battle the vampires and reclaim Possie Creek. But no one ever heard from them again, so Possie Creek remains plagued by the horror of that fateful summer.
