The University of Jos (UNIJOS) is a public university based in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. The university was founded in 1975 as a satellite campus of the University of Ibadan. It was established an independent institution in 1980, though in the beginning, faculty, and staff from the University of Ibadan continued to provide instruction and advisement.
