Horror Story of Fond St. Jean
The small French town of Fond St. Jean was a peaceful place... until the deaths started.
The locals hadn’t had any suspicious deaths in the years leading up to the first one, until one night when one of the locals was found dead in an alleyway. They were seemingly strangled to death.
No one knew what had happened, and gossip of a possible murderer running amok filled the town.
The murders kept occurring, and the townspeople were scared and on edge. Until one night, a ghastly figure wearing a ratty overcoat was standing in the center of town. People could faintly make out the figure as they went about their business, but no one knew what to do about it.
The locals started to connect the figure to the recent murders, and fear began to set in.
One brave townsman decided to confront the figure, and when he stepped forward he saw that the figure was, in fact, a zombie. A zombie of one of the recent victims of murder.
The townsfolk soon realized that the zombie was looking for revenge against the one that had killed his former self. Little did they know, the zombie was actually looking for the one who had been tormenting the town with the odd deaths.
Eventually, the townsfolk banded together and hunted down the murderer. The zombie was never seen again and the town finally returned back to peace. But to this day, people still tell tales of the mysterious zombie of Fond St. Jean.

Fond St. Jean is a small, rural village located in central Haiti's Artibonite department, near the regional capital of Gonaïves. It is known for its Mardi Gras celebrations, held annually in June, which are among the oldest and most colorful in the country.
The village was established in 1735, when it was settled by a group of freed slaves. It was first known as Fond des Noirs, or "the black people's settlement." According to local tradition, the village was renamed after a freed slave named Jean, who saved his earnings to buy a piece of land there, and who is buried in nearby Gonaïves.
The village is largely sustained by subsistence farming and occasional fishing trips made to the nearby Artibonite River. The village also features several small shops that offer local fruits and vegetables, and a small school.
Today, Fond St. Jean is one of the few remaining traditional villages in Haiti. There is no electricity, running water, or phone service, but the villagers take pride in preserving its cultural traditions and folkways. The population in 2020 is estimated to be around 1,500.
