Horror Story of Igongo Cultural Centre - Mbarara
Once upon a time, there was a small village called Igongo in the heart of Uganda. This village was home to a unique cultural centre that drew many tourists and students from around the world every year.
The Igongo Cultural Centre was the only place in the entire country that preserved and showcased the traditional arts, crafts, and lifestyle of the Igongo people. It provided visitors with an appreciation of the past and a glimpse into the future.
It was believed that the Igongo people were descendants of an ancient kingdom who had been cursed. As the legend goes, long ago a witch had cursed the village and its people. The curse was not lifted until many years later, when the Igongo Cultural Centre was established.
Unfortunately, not all of the locals agreed with opening the centre, and they held a grudge against the owners. One night, when the centre was open for an evening of festivities and performances, a group of villagers snuck inside and set all of the displays and artefacts ablaze.
The fire spread at an alarming rate, destroying both the past and the future, and anyone who was inside the centre at the time of the blaze was trapped. The owners of the centre, and those who worked there were never heard from again.
Since that day, the centre has been completely abandoned, leaving only ashes and memories in its wake.
