Global Travel Marketplace (GTM), which was celebrating its tenth anniversary, was held at The Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida, from Thursday, July 28 to Saturday, July 30.

Elite travel agents and premier suppliers from around the world congregate at this event. Many in attendance described the gathering of more than 300 business experts as “powerful,” “life-changing,” and “the best event ever.”

Travel advisers must fulfill a number of requirements in order to attend, the most important of which is that they must either operate a multimillion-dollar agency or have yearly individual sales of at least $1 million.

Global Travel Marketplace is commemorating ten years in business. Northstar Travel Group hosts the GTM event, which offers two days of one-on-one meetings when vendors sit down at the travel advisor’s table for a six-minute consultation. It’s intended for both parties to get right to the point of supporting one another’s business growth.

Suppliers also invest in conducting board room presentations, where they are given 30 minutes to explain their brand and respond to adviser questions.

According to Alicia Evanko-Lewis, Executive Vice President, Travel Group Global Events, Northstar Travel Group, “for a decade we have seen an instant return on investment for our participating suppliers and advisors, and once again this year, business was booked onsite during our more than 7,000 face-to-face appointments.”

Establishing Contacts

Everyone was given a portion of a photo and instructed to identify their match in order to assist the event go more smoothly and encourage the participants to meet new people. The matchmaker game, which Tourism Australia funded, was a fun method to connect suppliers and advisors.

Attendees raced to discover their match before time ran out for the chance to win a case of Australian wine by doing so and submitting a photo to social media.
