Chhattisgarh is soon going to host a local food festival from 17th July to 7th August across various locations of the state. This event has come after the government decided to promote monsoon tourism in the state. The festival will highlight the mouth-watering traditional Chhattisgarh cuisines plus, they will also promote their traditions, customs, and everything that might excite tourists. Giving emphasis on local food, the government knows that not many people know about this state’s cuisine in the country. Hence, they find this the way to promote their local food to the world.
The cuisine includes different types of items like red ant chutney, Chousela Rotis(basically rice puris) local liquor made out of flower Mahua, there are a lot of varieties in the Chhattisgarhi cuisine. The visitors of this event will also get a chance to eat regional-based and tribe-based cuisines.
The venue of this festival is going to be held at a hotel in Raipur named Hotel Grand Imperia on 17th July. Eco Hill resort Kabir, Surguja, and Chabutra and Shaila Tourist Resort Mainpat, on 23-24 July, Sarodha Dadar, Baiga Ethnic Resort, and Kabirdham on 30-31 July, and Chitrakote, Dandami Luxury Resort, and Bastar on 6-7 August.
The tourism ministry is hoping to attract a large number of tourists to the state during this food festival. They also believe this event is the gateway to attract tourists from the country. Chhattisgarh is known for its tribes and traditions and not many people are aware of this. Right now the focus is on promoting domestic and local tourism and after this they also plan to go worldwide.
